"ALL GOOD THINGS" "PEOPLE" MUST COME TO AN END!!!  / Veronica Adeyemo (Student ISI Ibadan )

Canon Iluyomade was not just my principal; he was a father to all "students" "children" in ISI.

We were silly! Yet he was Patient!

You have been a GREAT ROLE MODEL to MY Present Life.

Rest in Peace Canon

With Praise to the Lord God for an Exemplary Life  / Eniola Akindemowo (Ex ISI Student )
I was saddened to learn of the passing away of my dear principal Canon (Archdeacon) Iluyomade. Partings are always tinged with sorrow yet there is not despair and sorrow must turn to joy when there is the hope of salvation through Christ. I praise God for his life that was clearly lived in resolute service to and faith in our Saviour Lord Jesus.

Canon Iluyomade was the principal of the International School Ibadan (ISI) while I was a student there and what an awe inspiring yet revered figure he was. The whisper "Canon is coming" was all that was needed for the naughtiest student to snap to attention and be on best behaviour. Yet I never once heard or heard of him raising his voice in anger.

I remember him as a smiling benevolent figure someone who left me in no doubt that he took pleasure in my academic and other achievements. It was always a pleasure to see him even after I graduated from the school - as I would sometimes see him on a Sunday usually at the 10 am morning service at the U.I. Chapel of the Ressurection. Though he was principal to hundreds of students at a time he always remembered my name and always had a warm greeting and a smile.

I was especially delighted that he graciously consented to be one of the officiating ministers at my wedding in the Chapel of the Ressurection on Boxing Day 2006 many years afterward.

Our dear Canon was more than our principal. He was an ambassador for the Lord. Though I think we took his title for granted the gravitas of his station was certainly driven home to me whenever I saw him in the Chapel in his pristine whilte robes. He was also the teacher of my Bible Studies (we called it B.K. back then) class. I can still hear his gravelly cultured voice distinguishing the 'isms' for us.....judaism.....buddism....hinduism......

I remain appreciative of his gentle influence upon my life to this day. He will not be forgotten.

I extend my very sincere condolences to the entire family on behalf of the Akindemowo and Olu Longe families.

Eniola Akindemowo (nee Olujoke Longe).

Sir
You were truly a father!!!

I remember times we played our recorders right in front of your office just because the sitting area was so convenient you would just come out and ask us to leave gently yet we kept on coming back because of the love you show
And this went on with every generation of student
yet you were never angry

Thank you for the years spent under your tutelage

Sleep on in the Lord
you deserve the rest for a life well spent and job well done Sir! Close

You still live on because you're with Our Father in Heaven so I say to you now like I said to you the last time we spoke....I love you Daddy!!! Thank you for being a great example to me and many others.
